Darcy Carlson joined the Hellam Varon team in 1993 with 15 years of experience already in her pocket.  Growing up she was blessed with (or 'plagued by', depending on one's outlook) a love of math. As a specialist in income tax planning and compliance for estates, trusts, and high net worth individuals, she views herself more as a confidant and problem solver than a run of the mill accountant. "Sorting out an Estate is kind of like a big puzzle," she says. "I like working with my clients, making their tax lives less challenging. It's a bit of a mystery and I get to help solve it."

As a SCUBA diver and world traveler Darcy is well acquainted with risk and committed to helping her clients manage their own. And with a talkativeness that borders on loquacious she is happy to talk through her clients' opportunities as well as their trials and tribulations.

Darcy loves to wed business and conviviality, and will do so at every opportunity. Whether in the office, playing golf, or on a tennis court, she is adept at assisting her clients as they navigate the dangers and pleasures of the financial ocean. This is, after all, a woman who has literally swum with sharks.
